Achieng Abura
Achieng Abura is a Kenyan musician who performs Afro-Jazz, Afro-Fusion and Gospel music. She debuted with her gospel album "I Believe" around 1990. Abura won Kora Award in 2004 for Best East African Female an award she shared with Tsedenia Gebremarkos of Ethiopia. She was part of the Divas of The Nile super group, which featured four Kenyan female musicians Suzzana Owiyo, Mercy Myra and Princess Jully. The group performed at the Festival Mundial in Tilburg, Netherlands in 2002 and 2007. Abura holds a MSC. degree in Philosophy and Environmental studies and is as well a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador
