Nazizi Hirji is a Kenyan Hip-Hop, Reggae and Dance-Hall artist. She released her first single “Ni Sawa Tu” when she was 16 and the track became an instant hit making her a household name. She has since released a treasure trove of hit singles. In 2001 she teamed up with Wyre and Bamzii to form the immensely popular group Necessary Noize and in 2003 the group released their self-titled album Necessary Noize. In 2005 the group released their second album Kenyan Gal Kenyan Boy. Nazizi is also a member of the group E.A.B.C. (East African Bashment Crew) who’s other members are Wyre and Ugandan Bebe Cool. The trio has an album titled Fire. In 2005 she represented Kenya in the Africa Unite to our in Ethiopia with the Marley’s and is featured on the on the DVD which was released February 2008. She is also featured on the DVD Hip-Hop Colony which focuses on the birth of Hip-Hop in Kenya. A short film called “RASTAR” was aired on MNET and is a true story loosely based on her life.
